Overall, we had a poor experience with Hawk. 1. The car pickup was delayed by two hours, which pushed our next itinerary back. Despite trying to reach Hawk in the morning to deliver the car to our hotel, their phone number was unreachable. We arrived at the pickup point only to find no staff. After waiting until 2 PM, a travel agent helped us contact Hawk. They eventually arrived with two battered Proton Wajas and took us to their office to complete the paperwork. By the time we left, it was already 4 PM, severely disrupting our plans. 2. The cars were in terrible condition. We booked two Proton Wajas. Both were full of scratches. My friend's car had a non-functional rear tail light, and mine had a broken fog light. The inspection sheet was completely marked up. On top of cosmetic issues, they had major mechanical problems. My car had a bald front tire, and my friend's car had a dangerously bulging rear tire. After numerous calls, roadside assistance replaced the damaged tire with a small spare. Unfortunately, my friend's spare tire was flat, leaving us in a difficult situation. Hawk's phone line was then off, providing no further assistance. We had to use the spare from my car. This ordeal meant arriving at Cameron Highlands at 2 AM, ruining our itinerary. 3. Customer service was negligible at best. They failed to provide punctual service, delivered faulty cars, couldn't promptly resolve issues, and ignored major problems post-incident. Hawk’s service was abysmal, barely earning a score of 1 out of 10. After negotiations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, they replaced my friend's car with a compact Toyota Vios in better condition, but no compensation was given. My car remained problematic. In summary, I strongly advise against renting from Hawk. Their cars are unsafe, and their customer service is abysmal.
