Thanks to Zuzu Car for reminding us to carefully check the documents given by Alamo staff for our signature. This time, the Alamo staff really tried to give me a $36 insurance document to sign, but I immediately refused. They then had to issue a zero-dollar document for me to sign. I hope future renters will be more cautious.
I arrived quite late, but there was a free shuttle from the airport to the rental office. The queue was reasonably fast, and the staff was quite friendly. They tried to sell me an upgrade and extra insurance, but I declined. There were two staff members at the car lot who let me choose my vehicle. By the time I got there, only a Sonata and a Charger were left. I quickly chose the Charger (the new model Charger is really cool!). I'm glad I didn't go for the convertible, as it rained nearly every day after I arrived.
The airport shuttle is very convenient, store service is efficient, and there are no additional sales pitches. However, the self-service car pickup machine doesn't seem to recognize domestic credit cards, so you still need to go to the counter.
