The entire pickup process was appalling. The ticketing system in place doesn't work (people push, miss their numbers and return later) and we had to wait for well over 2 hours past our pick up time. One of the staff members was also quite rude (although the lady who eventually served us was fine). Each customer took so long to deal with - they really need to modify the collection process.

Once we’d found the desk there was no queue and we were served immediately.
However!! When we dropped the car off we were told we had parked in the wrong place even though it was a Sicily by Car (no. 44) space and we were told to move it to next to the office. We needed to catch our flight and found this unreasonable!! So we left the keys and walked away. Slightly unnecessary demand from the staff member.

The staff behind the counter had told us that she will charge us an additional 100 euros for a second driver. Even though we did not agree as we did not think it mattered how many people drove the car, in any case due to no choice we agreed and took the car. They had taken a deposit of euro 594 from my credit card and mentioned that they will return euro 400 when the car was returned in good condition. However when we returned the car and got a no damage on the car while being returned, they have still only returned euro 229.04 to my credit card instead of euro 400. This is unlawful. They are not picking up the toll free numbers that are listed and we have no way to talk to them. I am very disappointed.

1) The car while booking said medium SUV. However it was a large size SUV. Parking is sometimes challenging in Italy. Ford Kuga shouldn’t be considered as small or mid size. It is a full sized SUV.
2) The experience with Insurance was BAD. While booking it said the full insurance was covered then while picking up the car I was shown different * that said it doesn’t cover full damage.

The company is very popular. Other car rental counters were very empty, but there was a line at Sicily's counter. The staff displayed typical Italian efficiency - slow and unhurried. It took two hours to complete the process, but they didn't try to upsell any insurance, which was nice. However, when picking up the car, I found out they gave me a manual car, and I had to go back downstairs to exchange it. The staff weren't apologetic at all and even asked if I didn't know how to drive a manual. Overall, the cost-performance ratio was okay.

Overall, very satisfied with the service. QEEQ customer support response was quick and professional. The Rome airport branch was easy to locate by following the carrental signs. The car pickup process involved no upselling; the car provided was new with only 7000 kilometers on it. The trunk was much larger than a Golf. The return process was efficient; just had to sign and leave. Paid a €200 deposit on pickup, which has not been refunded yet.

The car rental company didn't recognize the international driver's license provided by Zuzuche, and we were stuck for half an hour. Luckily, I had a notarized translation prepared, but then they said it wasn't recognized because it was from a Hong Kong notary. They claimed that Hong Kong is Hong Kong and mainland China is mainland China, despite the first page of the document clearly stating that the legal effect applies to both. Eventually, after requesting the supervisor and waiting for more than half an hour, I managed to persuade them. This was the most disappointing part of the trip. Zuzuche and the rental company should ensure mutual recognition before confirming orders. Fortunately, I had prepared the notarized document just in case. However, being lectured about the difference between Hong Kong and mainland China in a foreign country was absurd and nauseating.

This is one of the bigger companies around, the pickup and drop-off were quite fast. They charged a 650-euro pre-authorization, which I think hasn't been released yet. Overall, a good experience. Italy is very suitable for self-driving, except for the high parking costs. For experienced drivers, the basic insurance is usually enough, no need for full coverage, as locals drive and park very orderly. A word of caution, this parking lot can be tricky. After picking up the car, the rental company's parking area will issue a parking card. When you leave the parking building, you should insert the card into the machine for automatic gate open. However, it didn't work for me, so I had to call for manual assistance to open the gate. As a result, it continued to count as if the car was still inside, and I only noticed in the evening in Naples, ending up paying a 33-euro parking fee. In such cases, after exiting, immediately park on the side and use the 'easy parking' app provided on the receipt to scan and pay quickly.

The car rental experience with Sicily by Car was very good. The new car only had 800 kilometers on it. The counter service was good; there was no aggressive upselling of insurance. The return process was quick and convenient. The driving performance of the SEAT SUN was excellent, especially on the winding roads of the Amalfi Coast. The smart features were comparable to those of domestic electric cars.

The car I actually received was in terrible condition! The left side mirror was covered in tape and looked ready to fall off, and there were several scratches on the body. Though they did point these out when I picked up the car and told me to take pictures, they still charged me 500 euros for dents that were barely visible unless you looked closely when I returned the car! Fortunately, Zuzuche helped me with the compensation, but I would still suggest everyone avoid this rental company.

Overall, it was quite good. The drop-off process was efficient, with no damage or accidents. They upgraded me from a Peugeot 208 to a Citroën C3 manual diesel. The car had over 80,000 kilometers on it. I had to add AdBlue myself, costing over 16 euros. QEEQ mentioned I could get reimbursed from the rental company, but I threw away the receipt. Sisilybycar doesn't charge extra for cross-country trips, which is great!

The overall service was okay, and the rental staff could speak English. The condition of the Audi Q5 was also good. When renting the car, the staff asked if I wanted to purchase their full insurance. They also told me that the rental car already came with full insurance. However, if I used the full coverage I bought from QEEQ in the event of a claim, I would still need to pay upfront, and QEEQ would reimburse me later. To avoid the hassle, I decided to purchase an additional full insurance directly from the rental company. Other issues mainly stemmed from the staff's use of slightly incorrect English vocabulary. However, even with that, their English is considered quite fluent for Italy.

I've rented cars in Europe many times, and this is the worst company I’ve encountered! The vehicle was handed to us without adding AdBlue, and the warning light came on as soon as we got it. After spending 15 euros to add AdBlue, the warning light was still on, and the car wouldn't start after turning it off! We had to call roadside assistance, who towed the car to a repair shop. After adding more AdBlue, the issue was resolved. The staff said that this car has a minimum threshold for AdBlue, and if you don't fill it past that level, it won’t register. How would I possibly know that? Shouldn't you have prepared the vehicle properly before handing it over to me? They initially said roadside assistance would be free, but then they directly charged 960 euros from my card without informing me! No notification or explanation! Only after a week of follow-up by Zuzuche did the rental company respond, saying it was a roadside assistance fee, and they even said they’d assess damages and send me a settlement invoice. Damages for what? You didn’t even fill AdBlue properly in the first place. I haven’t even claimed back the 15 euros I spent on AdBlue or compensation for the hours of my trip that your negligence cost me. Stay far away from this company if you don’t want to be scammed!

Following the airport signs, it was easy to find the car rental branch. After taking a number and queuing, there were three numbers ahead, and with two counters open, it took about 20 minutes to get served. The service at the pickup counter wasn’t very enthusiastic but at least they didn’t try to upsell additional insurance. (They informed us we were upgraded to a larger vehicle, but frankly, the car's condition wasn’t great; it felt unstable on the highway.) Worth mentioning, as we were concerned about the early morning return for our flight (the branch officially opened at 8 AM, and we were worried self-service return might lead to issues), we opted to return the car the night before. At the counter, we learned the return location actually opens at 7 AM, so we asked to adjust our return time to 7 AM. They were very accommodating, updated the system, and did not charge extra fees. This time, we rented two vehicles, but neither was in good condition. The Cupra we rented was particularly difficult to drive; its performance in every aspect was subpar. We were a little worried during the return process because, after refueling, we accidentally took a wrong turn and drove an extra ten kilometers, fearing it might not count as a full tank. Additionally, due to time constraints, we didn’t wash the car and only did a basic cleanup. However, the return process turned out surprisingly smooth.
