Advantages: The location is right at the airport exit, making it very easy to find. The rental process is quick, and the car was fairly new. I rented it for 11 days, and overall, it worked well with no major issues. However, the sound system was quite poor, which might be a problem inherent to the Nissan Kicks itself.
Disadvantages: First, I suspect the car might have been in an accident. The trunk door was full of shattered glass, which shook all over the trunk when driving on bumpy roads. Additionally, the rearview camera video was tilted because of this, almost causing me to scrape the car while reversing. But these were minor issues. Second, we planned to cross the border from the UAE to Oman—on the 5th, we traveled from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, and on the 8th, we would head to Oman—so we needed the rental company to issue an NOC document for border crossing. The airport rental location staff told us to come back on the 5th between 3-6 pm to pick up the document and pay the fee. They insisted it had to be done at this location and mentioned the document would take two days to process. I specifically emphasized that our border crossing would happen on the 8th and return on the 13th, not crossing on the 5th and returning on the 12th. On the 5th, when I arrived at the airport, I thought it would be straightforward to collect the document and leave, but the staff looked puzzled, as though they had forgotten. They asked me to wait 10 minutes, but it ended up taking half an hour. Since airport parking fees are calculated minute-by-minute, I was charged 80 RMB after 40 minutes. This was frustrating, but what was worse was that on the 8th when I was preparing to cross the border, I discovered the documents had the wrong dates—listed as crossing on the 5th and returning on the 12th. Since I had hotel bookings for the 13th, I had to find a local rental office in Abu Dhabi to get the documents corrected. Not only did this delay my itinerary by an entire day, but I also learned that the border-crossing documents can be processed at any rental office, not just the airport location. Adding to the frustration, Abu Dhabi staff told me the correction only takes half an hour. So what was the point of the two-day wait I was told before? This was completely misleading. The condition of the car was excellent; it was a new car with only around 1700 kilometers driven. Unfortunately, I made a mistake by selecting the wrong return date, which led to paying extra for an additional day. Still, the price offered by the QEEQ platform was the most competitive.
