The store didn't accept the translation document and required purchasing insurance to provide the vehicle. There was a mileage limit, and only after paying 2000 yuan was it unrestricted.
This is the worst car rental company I have ever encountered, whether domestically or abroad! Simply outrageous! I didn't notice the mileage limit when booking, and when I arrived at the store to pick up the car, they forced me to pay an extra 150 euros. Their attitude was arrogant the whole time, leaving no room for negotiation, and they aggressively pushed their insurance options. After declining, they charged an additional 30 euros for highway tolls, yet didn't place any stickers on the windshield! On top of that, when returning the car, we experienced thunderstorms in Vienna that day, making us hesitant to drive too fast on the highway. Furthermore, the return location was extremely hard to find. After much effort, we located the return parking lot, but queuing up on-site delayed us by over half an hour. This caused us to return the car a few minutes late overall. When handing over the car, I explained to the staff on-site that the delay was due to the weather and asked if it was an issue, to which I received a reassuring response: 'No problem!' Only then did we leave assured. However, as soon as we reached the hotel, our credit card was immediately charged 102 euros! Why did they not inform us on-site about the fee? Moreover, the 102 euros included an extra highway toll charge! Absolutely shameless!
This is by far the worst car rental company I have ever encountered both domestically and internationally! It’s outright robbery! I didn’t notice the mileage limit when booking, and upon arrival at the store to pick up the car, the company forced us to pay an additional 150 euros. Their attitude was arrogant throughout, and there was no room for negotiation. They kept pushing their insurance on us, and after refusing, they charged us another 30 euros for highway tolls. Yet, they didn’t even place any stickers on the windshield! That’s not all—the process of returning the car was a nightmare. On the day of return, Vienna was experiencing a thunderstorm, so we drove cautiously on the highway. Additionally, the return location was extremely difficult to find. After much struggle, we finally located the return parking lot only to stand in line for over half an hour, causing the car return to be late by just a few minutes. When handing over the car, I explained to the staff on-site that the delay was due to the weather and asked if there would be any issues. Their response was 'no problem!' Hence, we left confidently. However, before we even reached the hotel, my credit card was immediately charged 102 euros! Why didn’t they mention the charge on-site? Moreover, the 102 euros included an extra highway toll that they added again! Absolutely shameless!
All was very good. Smooth conduct by counter staff and very well managed.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
The car was new and in good condition. The counter staff was helpful and courteous. The pickup and drop off process was easy and quick, no waiting time. The price detector by Qeeq further reduced Euro 20 on the booking. Qeeq is the best website for car hire. Best rates and immaculate booking. Overall good experience. Highly recommended.
Following the signs, it was easy to find Parkhaus 4 where the car rental company is located. Dryyve is a smaller player compared to Avis, Hertz, and Europcar, and their counter is at the very end of the hall. The good thing is that there was no queue. Note that only basic insurance is included, but they weren't pushy about selling extras. However, they didn't print my contract at first and had to get someone else to reprint it later. I was not very satisfied with the car they gave me—a worn-out Citroën C4 with Hungarian plates and 50,000 kilometers on it. The car was dirty, with dead insects on the headlights. The trunk can fit two 28-inch and one 20-inch suitcases, which is quite spacious. When you switch to sport mode, it performs OK on the highway and doesn't feel unstable at 150 km/h.
The staff at the rental company was very friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a good experience, different from renting a car in Hungary. This company might be a smaller car rental business. I purchased the supercover insurance at the counter, but unlike Hertz, they didn't provide a black folder containing various documents. After confirming with the staff, I learned that any issues can be addressed by contacting the technical support hotline on the dashboard. The entire process was smooth, and returning the car was also quick. By the way, I'll opt for a diesel car next time.
Overall, there weren’t any major downsides; it's pretty standard. However, this company doesn’t include highway toll tickets in the car, so you need to purchase them additionally from the staff. If you buy their full insurance, it costs 28 euros per day. It is recommended to get the full insurance directly from the rental company, as it is the same price as the domestic insurance provided by QEEQ, but can save you a lot of trouble in case of any issues. The car received was a compact Peugeot SUV. The trunk could fit two 26-inch suitcases, and more luggage would need to be placed on the rear seats. The mileage was over 20,000 km, so it was relatively new. It included driver assistance features, and overall, I was very satisfied with the car's condition.
The service was average, and additional fees were charged. After returning the car, I received a bill that included a €24.16 cleaning fee, which was not disclosed when renting the vehicle. I have never encountered this with other rental companies. A highway toll fee was also charged mandatorily. Although highways in Austria require toll payments, this fee is typically optional—you can decide whether to purchase it at gas stations if you plan to use the highways.
My credit card had issues and they wouldn't accept a cash deposit, so they refused to rent to me. Since it was prepaid, I ended up wasting the rental fee.
