My credit card provides insurance for rental cars in Mexico. So I had printed a letter that I had received from my Credit Card Provider saying that the insurance will be covered by my Credit Card Provider.
But Europcar did not accept that letter. They told me that you have to show an extra letter from Carta De La Comision Nacional De Seguros Y Finanzas.
I told them that based on what is mentioned on the internet, a letter from my bank saying that my insurance is covered is enough, but they insisted that they will not give me the car if I do not buy insurance from Europcar. So I had to pay them 250 dollars extra to get the car.

Tanto reserva del auto como el seguro ..
Me dijeron que los pagos que se hacen por internet son mentira y que siempre es lo mismo aquí en Mexico ..

When we arrived, they said there were no cars available, and then took us to another rental company KMG. The car had scratches everywhere, and it was hard to document them all. Later, when returning the car, the young guy claimed that a certain spot was damaged by us, but we were very careful and had no incidents at all. He tried to charge us an extra 200 pesos service fee, which was never mentioned before. They deducted money from my card, and my friend's credit card was also charged, so we paid twice! Please contact me as soon as possible to resolve this.
I chose the Zuzuche discounted full insurance and didn’t purchase additional insurance at the store. During the car return process, they used a magnifying glass to inspect the car for about ten minutes and charged $160 for a tiny scratch on the rearview mirror. It’s disappointing to see a big company operate this way; I’ve never encountered this before.
The service provided by Zuzuche is okay, but the partnered rental companies differ greatly, some good and some bad. The car pickup process took too long, almost 2 hours of waiting. There were many people, hidden charges, and various difficulties. I rented the car for three days and was forced to buy insurance for $109, which only covered 80%, leaving me responsible for the other 20%. A minor scratch on the tire cost me $36, a total rip-off. And the deposit still hasn't been refunded.
Extremely satisfied, Miss Vanessa from customer service was professional, enthusiastic, and quick. There was no extra upselling. She was the best customer service representative of our entire South American trip, much better than the car rental company at Cancun Airport. Thank you again.
