I feel like there are not enough staff at the rental company, and the pickup location has fewer people compared to the shop next door. The rental fee and deposit are charged separately, with a deposit of 3000 dirhams, which I think is too much. Refunds take 21 days. I compared it with another company, which only charged a total of 1000 dirhams for both the rental fee and deposit.
Beware!! From the moment I picked up the car, there were numerous issues. The staff member assisting me was new and completely unfamiliar with the pickup process, making everything extremely slow. Not a single word was said about any important details or instructions; meanwhile, the staff at the neighboring counter gave a detailed explanation to another white couple who were renting a car. It took me an hour to pick up the car. The guy showing me the car was very friendly and explained all the functions like shifting gears and turning on lights, etc., but unfortunately, the car itself was in terrible condition. The interior even had vomit left by the previous customer hanging on the door, which hadn't been cleaned (I forgot to take a photo). While driving, I noticed the car felt very unstable at speeds over 120, swaying heavily, making it almost impossible to stay on the fast lane of the highway. It vibrated so much that it was genuinely scary.
Finally, upon returning the car, the staff enthusiastically took care of a white family of five ahead of me, inspecting their car immediately as they drove into the lot. However, when it was my turn, I stood there waiting without anyone offering assistance. When I asked, the response was simply to park the car there. The indoor and outdoor staff kept passing the responsibility back and forth, and no one would tell me who was in charge of the return process. Additionally, because there was a minor scratch, I was required to obtain a document from Dubai Police. The staff kept dragging their feet—I even suspected they were intentionally delaying—until I got frustrated and told them my flight was departing in 2 hours. Only then did they start moving slightly faster.
Since it was late (11:00 PM), there was no need to queue. The originally reserved compact car was unavailable, so they upgraded me to an SUV for free. When returning the car (9:00 AM), I noticed a long queue for pick-up, but the return process was very quick—finished within 5 minutes.
Once you pick up the car, drive it out promptly without wasting time. I spent half an hour maneuvering in the parking lot. I was charged 40 dirhams when leaving the parking area.
