When I arrived at the store, the car I had reserved was unavailable. They offered me two options: either pay an extra 500 euros to rent a sedan or add nearly 1000 euros for a larger BMW X5. Since my reservation pick-up time had passed, refunds were not allowed. Ultimately, I had to pay three times the original price to rent a car. The service attitude was terrible, the pick-up process was slow, and their stance was basically 'either pay more or forfeit the prepayment.' I've had over ten years of car rental experience across many countries, but this was my first time booking through Zuzuche, and it turned out to be a very disappointing experience.
The service attitude was very good. They only recommended one insurance plan, but when I declined, they didn't push further. I got a hybrid Outlander, but it turned out to be quite fuel-intensive. At first, I thought the battery was broken, but later realized it was a plug-in hybrid. Since my rental period was short, I simply treated it as a regular fuel car and didn't bother charging it.
Overall, if you plan to visit multiple countries in Europe, driving is more convenient, especially when traveling with children or carrying a lot of luggage. Rental prices are affordable, and for groups of three or more, renting a car is likely the most cost-effective option.
The car I initially rented was too big, and they mentioned it was at T1 instead of T2 where I was initially coming from. I didn’t want to go back to T2, so they replaced it with a Mercedes V250, which wasn’t listed. The replacement car was smaller and even better.
There were no clear instructions for returning the vehicle. A red area was marked as the return zone, so I parked there, but I was informed that a 5.7 euro fee was required. Later, I was told I had parked in the wrong area. Even as a French speaker, I made a mistake. The return agent mentioned that many others make the same error and suggested having clearer instructions.
The service was average. The store is located at the train station, easy to find with signs, but it requires a long walk inside. Incorrect charges were made, with €239 for vehicle damage being deducted twice.
